The Baker Cup Chicken Barbecue Sauce Contest Print E-mail
Lansing Harbor Festival proudly hosts the first annual Baker Cup Chicken Barbecue Sauce Competition.  Local barbecue enthusiasts will compete grill to grill to win the prize for best chicken barbecue sauce.  Judges were Village of Lansing Mayor Donald Hartill and Jodi Dake, Town Supervisor Scott Pinney and Sharon Bowman, and WHCU's Dave Vieser.

2008: Robin Shuttenberg won first prize, with Matthew Binkewicz taking second prize.
 
NEW: There is no entry fee.

The festival has 150 booths available for local businesses and not-for-profits, priced at only $25 and $50.  Call Char Wilson to reserve yours! (607) 533-7079

Activities at the Kids Tent Print E-mail
There will be plenty to do in the Kids Tent, with activities scheduled throughout the day.  The ScienceCenter will be there helping kids to make wind socks, a fossil lab from the Museum of the Earth, AC Moore provided sun catchers, Asbury Church will be doing face painting, The Plantsman Nursery's Dan Segal will be doing plantings with the kids, Lansing Drop-In will be making necklaces, Jay and Carol Engels will be showing some of their alpacas, the Tompkins County SPCA will be planting catnip, Lansing Youth Services' Isabel Bazaldua will be doing a variety of activities including 'recycled art,' face painting and temporary tattoos.

  • 2PM Frozen T shirt contest. 
  • 4PM Karate demonstration with Cayuga Lake Seido's Robin McColley

Free Park & Ride

Lansing High School and Elementary School

12 Noon to 8:30pm
Festival Info
  • Admission Is Free.  Donations to support the Festival and Lansing Community Council will be happily accepted, but there will be no admission charge for any of the entertainment.
  • Additional Parking is available in the Lansing Central School's parking lots with free shuttle service from the Elementary School and The High School.
