ImageHouse rockin' blues served up Chicago style. Panek and the Cats are veterans of the Upstate Blues scene and their blend of original and classic material is the tried and true recipe for musical satisfaction. Not your usual blues clones, Panek and the Cats are their own men.

They are:
  • Pete Panek: a Chicago native, Pete cut his musical teeth in the inner city during the late 50's through the 60's. Thirty five years of playing experience has brought Pete the confidence to write, sing, and play (guitar) born of "being there".
  • Taz Cannon: Drummer with the hammer lock on the beat. Pete’s partner for over 25 years.\
  • Lenny Silver: the man on the keys brings years of Jazz playing to the blues- and makes it work.
  • Joe Bruno: the man that lays out the bottom that holds the groove down, over thirty years of bass playing experience.

The Blue Cats have shared the stage with:

Bo Diddley(Back up band), Buddy Guy, Koko Taylor, Jerry Portnoy, Charlie Mussewhite, Magic Dick, Robert Jr. Lockwood, the Tailgators, Eddie Shaw, Tinsley Ellis, Lee Oskar, Kenny Wayne Shepard, C.J. Chemer, Joe Bonomassa (backup band), Randy McStine, to name a few .

Pete Panek and the Blue Cats can be reached at 607-277-2479(Pete) or This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it for performing rates. No gig to big or to small. "Have Blues, will travel" is their motto.

Pete Panek and the Blue Cats host "Blue Monday" at the Nines (311 College Ave, 607-272-1888) in Ithaca every week. Now in its Twenty-seventh year it is one of the longest running open jams in the nation.
